The summer of 2013 was overlong, unbearably hot and devoid of much fictional inspiration. Heat kills my urge to write fiction, but it brought out some creativity in another outlet.

I spent most of the summer editing and updating the thirty-eight titles in the Food Fare Culinary Collection. While nothing like a fictional burst, the process did require focus and gobs of time. On average, it took me three to four days to edit each book. Along the way, I also redesigned some of the book covers and created a flash photo gallery of interesting teapots:

I'm three books away from completing the editing process for all titles in the Culinary Collection, which should take until the end of October - just in time for me to settle down and get back to fiction writing.

The creative tug has been pulling at me for the last few weeks. I should know better than to plan ahead, but the goal is to finish Bloodlust and Glinhaven before next summer rolls around.

The difference between fiction writing and foodstuff scribble? With fiction, the imagination can run wild with no boundaries. With foody goods, one must stick with the facts.
