According to ASPCA, the following animal-related protection laws were enacted by the US Congress in 2010:
Crush Act: Signed into law by President Obama on December 9, 2010 the Crush Act prohibits the creation, sale and distribution of "crush videos," which depict small animals being tortured to death by humans.
California: Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act.
Connecticut: Dog Chaining Law (re Connecticut Votes for Animals).
Missouri: Proposition B, Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act.
New Hampshire: Greyhound Protection Act.
Tennessee: TN HB 238/SB 555 (prohibits dog-fighting).
On a lighter note, UK's Daily Mail has an article about the oldest cat living in Britain (24 years), and You Tube is featuring a video that shows two cats playing "patty-cake" accompanied by human dialog.
Watching the video was a wonderful way to start the day.
