Hoyle Games II

Two years ago I purchased Hoyle Card Games, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I downloaded the updated version the other day, and I'm very happy with the set-up. I can simply while away hours on the games – particularly draw poker, pyramid solitaire and Hearts – so I try to limit my forays until my work is done for the day.
While Mum was here last week, she gave me Hoyle's Slots & Video Poker CD. Those games are fun, too, but I prefer the card games because the character opponents talk and have their own eccentric personalities. What I like best is one doesn't have to be online to play any of the games, which is a huge relief. I don't like interacting with unknown people via games on the internet. I'd rather play solo.
My latest acquisition is Hoyle Board Games, which includes Backgammon, Checkers, Chess, Dominoes, Rummy Squares and many more.
The Hoyle environments are realistic, with sound effects and chatting characters. I especially like the opponent Elayne, who is a fast-talking blonde New Yorker. Jasper the Jamaican is laid-back and cryptic, while Scurvy the parrot-pirate is full of ribald humor.
