Flashy Intro
Posted Tue, 07/26/11
I've added a new Books Flash Gallery to my web site. It displays all of my writings, including the works under my literary pseudonyms Deidre Dalton and Shenanchie O'Toole (aka Food Fare).
Since I've been a writer most of my life, I never really stop to think about the volume of work I've managed to complete and unleash on the world. I'm not patting myself on the back at this point, or claiming to be a writer of any great literary merit, but I will give myself credit for being steadfast in my singular devotion to writing. More importantly, I simply love writing and cannot imagine doing anything else with as much enthusiasm.
I was surprised by the current tally after finishing the Books Flash Gallery, which I've listed below. It's not a typical advertising ploy, hence the lack of linkage. This is the first time I've put together such a list, I might add. Perhaps it will be another forty years before I do so again...
"Celtic Remnants" by Deborah O'Toole (fiction)
"Mind Sweeper" by Deborah O'Toole (fiction)
"Torn Bits & Pieces" by Deborah O'Toole (poetry)
"Short Tales Collection" by Deborah O'Toole (11), including Foofer & the Ham Bone, Foofer Goes East, Foofer & St. Nick, Foofer, the Pooka & St. Patrick; Foofer Gets Groomed, Foofer Moves Northwest, Foofer & the Magic Mischa, Foofer & the Cat Burglar, Foofer Meets the Puffins, Foofer & the Ghastly Ghost, and The Journey to Rainbow Bridge.
Ambermont Magazine articles (8), including the Art of Solitaire, Billy the Kid, Blarney Castle, Anne Boleyn, Jack the Ripper, Loch Ness Monster, St. Valentine, and U.S. Political Parties. NOT INCLUDED IN BOOKS FLASH GALLERY.
"Collective Obsessions Saga" by Deidre Dalton (aka Deborah O'Toole). Eight-book gothic fiction series signed with Club Lighthouse Publishing; titles include Passion Forsaken, Quixotic Crossings, The Twain Shall Meet, Enthrallment, The Keeper's Journal, Hearts Desires, The Twilight and Megan's Legacy. The stats on the eight-book saga as whole are mind-boggling to say the least, although probably not surprising since the project took me more than twenty years to complete. Word Count (818,885); Number of pages (1,956).
Writer, editor and co-designer of three cookbooks for Food Fare and Club Lighthouse Publishing, including Ambrosia Cookbook, Food Fare Cookbook, and the Larkin Community Cookbook.
Food articles, essays and e-books for Food Fare (39), including: All Hallows Eve, American Food & Culture*, Artichokes, Aussie Gastronomy*, Avocados, Basque Flavors*, Canada, Coffee Talk, Emerald Isle*, England, France, Garlic Galore, German Gourmania*, Graveyard Grub, Greek Culinaria*, Halloween History, Hot Diggity Dog, Japan, Madagascar, Medieval Cuisine*, Mexican Cantina*, Monaco, Mushroom Mélange, Noel, Pine Nuts, Polish Kuchina*, Ravioli in the Kitchen, Russia, St. Patrick's Day, Savory Spain*, Scottish Vivers*, Sweden, Switzerland, Tamales from a Home Kitchen, Tea Time, Thai Cookery*, Thanksgiving with Food Fare, The Pumpkin Patch, and Wales. Oh good grief, I need a nap. Better yet, a very long vacation. Or, as per my usual, I'll probably just keep going at it...
