Free Suites

I'm always open to checking out free software, especially word processing programs. In my case, I can never really replace Microsoft Word because electronic manuscript submissions almost exclusively require it.
According to PC Magazine, there are two free office suites worth evaluating: Zoho and Open Office.
I've tried Open Office in the past. While comparable to MS Word, I always had problems with the page margins when printing. Needless to say, I did not use the program for long.
Zoho appears to be an online office suite, without the ability to download the program to an individual system. Some of the applications include Writer, Sheet (similar to Excel) and Show (similar to Power Point).
I'm not comfortable using online programs for large documents, but it's nice to know the services are available.
