Whenever I'm having a bad day and need a good laugh, I can always count on my girls.

Rainee and I went for a long car ride yesterday. Food is typically her first priority, but getting to go for a ride is the next best thing (almost). She loves to stick her head out the window in order to feel air on her face. I couldn't accommodate her with my hands on the wheel, but when we parked I let her cross over my lap to look out the driver's side. The small gesture made her supremely happy.

Cats are usually elegant, refined creatures who often condescend to their human parents. Kiki is no different in many respects, yet she lacks the "elegant and refined" facets of feline physical grace. Not one day goes by without her stumbling or tripping her way along. She has short, stubby hind legs which seem to add to her natural clumsiness. I love that about her. Of course, if she had any idea I was amused by her ineptness she's probably have a literal hissy fit. In her mind's eyes, Kiki sees herself as a 500-pound tiger, the epitome of refinement. Trivia Note: One of my many nicknames for Kiki is "Pinky Stubbs" (aka "Stubster"), which relates to her stubby legs and her habit of walking around with her tail straight up in the air, offering a view of her pink derriere for all to see.
My girls share a birthday on March 31st, when they will turn nine (Rainee) and seven (Kiki) respectively.
For all the love and joy - not to mention daily chuckles - they have given me over the years, they deserve the best I can give them in return.
