Lingering Infirmity

Cold...flu...I'm sick of the lot, literally.
It began with a nasty cold, and then developed into flu. I still don't feel 100%, but I'm functioning better now than I was last week. Writing and other work has suffered as a result. I'm getting into gear tout suite.
During my convalesce, I spent a lot of time sleeping. Other times I read. However, Kiki had other ideas. Whenever I tried to focus on my current read (Winter of the World by Ken Follett), she sat on the bedside table and pushed her head against the backside of the book in an attempt to get my attention. It was nearly impossible to concentrate. If I continued to ignore her, she would then jump onto the window ledge where she slipped her paw through the blind slats. Until I yelled at her, she would pull the blind back and forth so that the edges banged against the wall as she stared at me. She was deliberately trying to drive me crazy.
Kiki is perhaps is the most manipulative cat I've ever had. I'm not sure if she was trying to merely get my attention, or if her aim was to annoy me to the point where I'd leave so she could have the bed all to herself.
Whatever the case, I'm very happy to be on the mend.
