On to Seven

I finished Hearts Desires, which is part six of the Collective Obsessions Saga, just before lunch today. The manuscript came in at 222 pages with a word count of 91,606. In regards to size, it falls somewhere in the middle of all eight parts in the saga. After e-mailing the document to my publisher for review, I immediately went to work on part seven: The Twilight.
The book already has more than 100 pages written, but I need to read it through and fill in some of the gaps. I'm hoping to finish it within the next ten days or two weeks. Then it's on to the eighth and final part, Megan's Legacy. I know I've said it before, but I can't believe I'm finally nearing the finish line in the Collective Obsessions Saga.
I'm so tempted to take a break today, but every time I try to relax my mind keeps popping: "Instead of just sitting here, I could be going after the next book, getting that much further ahead." Talk about obsession!
We had four inches of snow in the night, but now the sun is shining. It's still cold, though. The room where I keep my computer is hotter than hell in summer, and colder than ice in winter. For the past few weeks I've been typing at the keyboard dressed in coat and mittens. I have a dome-shaped Atomic digital clock that shows room temperature, and yesterday it displayed 48 degrees. It's still warmer than 19 degrees outside, but some days I feel like I'm sitting on frozen tundra, working in a barn.
Good thing I have a coffee pot nearby...
