First Votes
Posted Tue, 11/04/08
I was watching Larry King Live last night when the first ballots in the presidential election were called.
Dixville Notch, New Hampshire voted at midnight. The town has a population of around seventy-five, and twenty-one people cast their ballots early this morning. Barack Obama received 15 votes, while John McCain received 6 votes. It was the first time Dixville Notch has chosen a Democrat since 1968.
Another early-voting town in New Hampshire is Hart's Location, the citizens of which gave Obama 17 votes and McCain 10.
Hopefully, it is an omen of things to come.
