On the Radio

The other night I was lying in bed, wondering whatever happened to mysteries on the radio. It was a popular form of entertainment in the 1930s, and then experienced a bit of a revival in the 1970s via the CBS Radio Mystery Theater, but I've heard nothing about it in recent years.
While attending high school in Reno in 1979, I recall listening to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater on occasion. I thought it was a bit antiquated at the time, but enjoyable nonetheless.
The onslaught of television programs and online forms of entertainment surely helped the demise of radio mystery theater, but I'm glad to see that various collectors and forums have kept the recordings alive.
When one gets tired of computer games, mindless reality television, rehashed news and endless commercial advertisements, it would be nice to have a simpler alternative these days.
