All the votes are in. The official electoral count puts Barack Obama at 364 votes, with John McCain receiving 173 electoral votes.

As promised, my consistent political entries will now scale down at Irish Eyes. Earlier I mentioned I would start a separate political blog if John McCain won the presidency. Since it thankfully did not happen I won't have to enumerate my dissatisfaction here, but decided to create a political blog anyway as I believe there will be many happy returns once Obama officially takes the reigns of government in January. Better to be happy and hopeful than sad and disillusioned.
