The public tempo has been set, and it will probably run right up to Election Day in November. Why can't the candidates act like adults, give their speeches and move on? Why must they outright lie and sling mud?
It's just another example of how politicians and those "in charge" view the American public as a horde of idiots. Not very complimentary or respectful, is it?
Considering the accelerating nasty pace of the campaigns, I'd say it's the candidates and their running mates who present as idiots. It becomes more pronounced every time they open their mouths in public.
