Blog Dearth

Posted Mon, 06/12/06

My parents will be coming for a visit this week, so blogging will become scarcer than before – if that's possible. Lately I simply haven't had the time to sit down and blog, although there have been many times I wished I could. I haven't been checking my e-mail regularly to boot, so if I owe you a reply-message please be patient.

I can't figure out where all the time goes. I'm home all day and every day, but there still doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done, including writing.

We're cleaning like demons, of course. A few weeks ago I mentioned cleaning the house, but now we're talking about the "deep" stuff such as rug steamers, wall-washing, stove elements, dusting sideboards, electrical cords and all else that gathers dog hair.

I'm quite happy with the results. No one will find dust or dirt swept under a rug in my house, I assure you. I've been driving Wilbert crazy with my cleaning binge, but I hope my Father's Day plans (lunch at Casa de Oro) will appease him.

Wilbert also built me a kitchen shelf to hold my collection of tea pots (see picture above; click on image to see larger size in a new window). If we had more room, I'd definitely have a bigger selection, but I've been restrained by lack of space. He promised to put up more high-level shelves in the future so perhaps my tea pot collection will grow.
