Afternoon Movie

Wilbert and I prepared a snack tray and watched The Last of Sheila yesterday afternoon. The movie came out in 1973 when I was twelve years old, but I remembered bits and pieces about the film through the years. I wanted to see it again, so I ordered it.

The Internet Movie Database describes the storyline as follows:

Sheila is killed in a hit-and-run car accident following a party one night. A year later, her multi-millionaire husband, Clinton (played by James Coburn), invites a group of her friends to spend a week on his yacht. He's a notorious practical joker and insists his guests play a mystery game where each has been assigned a crime for the others to discover. Each night a series of clues is planted in the local port and the team must solve the identity of the criminal-of-the-day. However, things get out of hand and soon there's a real crime to solve.

It was a pleasure to watch the movie again. It's a "whodunit" in classic fashion and well-worth a few hours on a Wednesday afternoon.

Other actors in the film include Richard Benjamin, Dyan Cannon, Joan Hackett, James Mason, Ian McShane and Raquel Welch.
